Rover Router

An IP55-rated dual-band Wi-Fi 6 access router, built in Taiwan, the European Union, or the United States depending on what the programme requires. The hardware is proven; what makes it a Rover node is the firmware, a hardened image built for software overlays, distributed monitoring, on-box throughput validation, eBPF filtering, and VPN rather than a generic community build.

What the hardened image adds

Five capabilities a stock access point doesn't ship with

Software overlays

Every router can join an encrypted overlay fabric that spans sites, carriers, and clouds, so a branch, a teleworker, and a field kit share one addressable network regardless of the underlay beneath them. WireGuard and ZeroTier are both supported as the overlay transport.

Distributed monitoring

Each node is a measurement point, not just a radio. Client health, RF conditions, path quality, and uplink state stream back continuously, so degradation is visible before a ticket is opened.

On-box speedtesting

Scheduled and on-demand throughput and latency tests run from the router itself against your chosen targets. That measures the circuit as delivered, not as a laptop on a crowded channel happens to see it.

eBPF filtering

Policy runs in the kernel through eBPF rather than a userspace proxy, so packets are classified and dropped on the data path instead of being copied up and back. DNS and content policy apply per SSID and per group, and enforcement stays local when the WAN is down.

VPN support

Native WireGuard, IPsec, and ZeroTier termination on the node, so remote offices, teleworkers, and roaming users land inside policy without a separate appliance or client stack. ZeroTier suits estates already running it, or cases where peer-to-peer reachability matters more than a fixed hub.

Hardware supports Zero Touch Provisioning and centralized control from private or hybrid cloud, with full AAA through directory, RADIUS, and API integrations, suited to remote offices, teleworkers, power-roaming users, and distributed enterprises.
